GLOBAL DEMAND PROMPTS GINETTA TO LAUNCH ALL NEW “GINETTA G50 HC (HOT CLIMATE)” (7-10-09)

New variant on G50 GT4 for United Arab Emirates market

Leading British sports car manufacturer, Ginetta today announces its latest launch – the Ginetta G50 HC (Hot Climate) car which has been designed to handle pressures of the searing United Arab Emirates heat and responds to global demand for the high performance race car.

Following the success of the Ginetta G50 GT4 model, which dominated European Championships this summer and also debuted on Asian grids, the G50HC is the result of a collaboration between Ginetta and the Dubai-based racing team GulfSport Racing who will act as official distributor for the car. With a similar spec as its predecessor, the car has headlights, air jacks and a larger capacity fuel tank and provides a cost effective and proven package for drivers aiming to win Class B of the UAE GT Championship.

Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta Chairman said: “The Ginetta G50 has already proved itself at in Europe and Asia this summer but world-wide demand told us that we needed to design a car with specific adaptations for hot climate countries. I’m delighted that the partnership with GulfSport has produced the G50HC and I’m sure we’ll see it dominating Championships in this part of the world in no time at all in the capable hands of Barry Hope and his team.”

Meanwhile Barry Hope, at GulfSport said: “We are delighted to be working with Ginetta on this project. Having run various types of race cars on the Bahrain and Dubai circuits over the last five years, my team have amassed a huge amount of knowledge about what it takes for a car to work well in a humid climate that can see ambient temperatures exceeding 40C and track temperatures of +60C. I think the approach being taken demonstrates quite clearly why Ginetta have such a good reputation. ”

The Ginetta G50 HC is priced at £59,200 (+ Freight and Duty)
